SUMMARY:Beas House Show
DESCRIPTION:Beasians organised the cultural evening “Indigo Odyssey” on May 21\, 2023. The theme was “Venerating Nature”. The choir presented Earth Song by Michael Jackson. It was followed by Orchestra presenting different symphonies. English Play “Thou shalt not borrow” was based on “The Merchant of Venice” by William Shakespeare adapted for a parody. The Mime depicted the message of living in harmony with nature. The Folk Dance performed by girls depicted unity permeating Rajasthani\, Gujarati\, Bengali\, Marathi\, i.e. Lavani and Goan dance and boys did semi-classical Saraiki Jhumar. The Solo Song Sathyam Shivam Sundram by Parikalpna Gupta was another lilting addition. The show ended with electrifying Giddha and Bhangra.

SUMMARY:NCC Annual Training Camp-58
DESCRIPTION:Annual Training Camp-58 for NCC Naval Wing cadets was held at St Soldier Divine Public School\, Naya Nangal. 20 cadets along with CTO Davinder Kumar Dutt of the Naval Wing from The Punjab Public School participated in the 10-day camp. The camp was organised by the 1 Punjab Naval Wing Unit Naya Nangal from June 2-11\, 2022. About 345 cadets of NCC category JD and JW participated in this camp from various schools\, institutions and colleges. The camp was run under the flag of the Commanding Officer Capt (IN) Anil Kumar Mehta. The cadets were provided intensive training in PT\, Drill\, Parade\, Firing and Ship Modelling. Classes were organised covering NCC syllabus comprising orientation\, communication\, seamanship\, boat work\, ship modelling\, personality development\, social and health awareness\, etc. ‘Yoga Divas’ was celebrated during the camp and many yoga asanas were performed by the cadets. Commanding Officer Capt (IN) Anil Kumar Mehta delivered a lecture on the “Importance of Yoga”. Debates\, group discussions and a quiz were organised to select the best cadet of the camp. S-00479 Shrey Jindal was adjudged the Best Cadet of the camp. The cadets played various games like volleyball\, kho-kho\, dodging ball and tug-of-war. PPS cadets formed part of the team that stood first in tug-of-war. Besides\, a cultural show was organised involving many cadets who performed various items. The cadets from PPS performed Bhangra. The cadets from PPS were in ‘Ranjit’ Division. They made their Division proud by winning medals in various camp activities.

DESCRIPTION:The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed every year on June 26 to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and illegal trade of drug. It was in the year 1987 that the United Nations General Assembly decided to mark this day as an important annual event as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse. The NCC cadets of PPS took out a rally on Ripudaman College Road\, Nabha to create awareness in preventing drug abuse and illicit trafficking which is the bane of every progressive society.

DESCRIPTION:Special Assembly\nA Special Assembly was organised on June 1\, 2023 for the Flag off Ceremony. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma formally handed over the School Flag to the Acting Deputy Headmistress Mrs Ravinder Kaur. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr Sharma appealed to the student community to reflect on what has been their gain on the campus over the last one year or so. He said the school was breaking up for summer vacation but this time can be best utilised for their betterment on all fronts. He appealed to them to stick to a plan at home for their academic growth. Bursar Dr Ankur Samuel Birkett was also present. \nParents-Teachers Meeting\nThe Special Assembly was followed by PTM in the allotted spaces. Parents interacted with teachers to know the progress of their wards in academics and corrective measures where they have not fared better. \nHeadmaster’s interaction with parents\nHeadmaster Dr DC Sharma met parents in his office as PTM was going on. He listened to their problems and assured them the school would do everything possible to address them. He shared with them his plan to revamp the lesson delivery after the summer vacation. \n

SUMMARY:PPS students excel in Board results
DESCRIPTION:The students of PPS\, Nabha performed brilliantly in ICSE (10th) and ISC (12th) the results for which were declared by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)\, New Delhi on May 14\, 2023. \nIn ICSE (10th) Dushyant Goyal topped with 96.2% marks\, Manmeet Kaur stood second with 95.6% marks and Khushman Kaur was third with 95% marks. Out of 107 students who took the examination\, 90 passed with distinction. As many as 7 students made the Perfect Score of 100 in varied subjects–2 in English Literature\, 1 each in Biology and Chemistry and 3 in Computer Applications. The batch average is 83.3%. 84.1% students passed in 1st division with distinction and the rest in first division. \nIn ISC\, Garima Tayal (Humanities) stood first with 97.8% marks. Amol Singh Sidhu (Humanities) stood second with 97.5% marks. Prithvi Kaur (Science) was third position with 96.8% marks. \nIn Humanities\, Garima Tayal stood first with 97.8%\, Amol Singh Sidhu was second with 97.5% marks and Ushaan Sandhu was third with 95.8% marks. \nIn Commerce Stream\, Gurleen Dhaliwal stood first with 93% marks\, Karanveer Singh was second with 91.5% marks and Jasdeep Singh was third with 89.8% marks. \nIn Science Stream\, Prithvi Kaur stood first with 96.8% marks\, Abhibhav Manhas was second with 96.5% marks and Sania Sidhu was third with 94.3% marks. Out of 97 students who took ISC examination\, 92 passed with distinction. The batch average is 86.4%. 94.8% students passed with distinction. \nFourteen students made a Perfect Score of 100 in varied subjects–8 in Political Science\, 1 in Sociology and 5 in Physical Education.  \nHeadmaster Dr DC Sharma\, on behalf of the Management\, complimented the staff\, students\, parents and all concerned for an excellent result both in ISC and ICSE.

SUMMARY:Freshers’ Evening
DESCRIPTION:The new students to PPS organised the Freshers’ Evening on April 29\, 2023. The song “Welcome to the family” set the stage for the evening. The English Play “The Third Suitor” was based on the legendary Indian characters King Viramaditya and Baital. The folk dance of Rajasthan took the show to a new level altogether. The Medley Duet singing by Aradhya and Ridham was the showstopper. The Western Dance added to the superb entertainment. The Mime depicted the devastating lifelong impact of neglect by parents on a child’s physical\, emotional and psychological health. Finally\, Giddha and Bhangra brought the curtain down on one of best performances of all time. The dancers clad in their vibrant accoutrement\, whirled and twirled to the rhythmic beats of melodious and peppy numbers.

SUMMARY:PPS riders excel in Delhi Horse Show
DESCRIPTION:PPS riders took part in Delhi Horse Show from March 18 to April 3\, 2023. They did the school proud by winning a whopping 79 medals–28 gold\, 29 silver\, 11 bronze and11 copper. Dhanveer Singh was adjudged the Best Rider in Group-I category. Harshwardhan Pal Singh Grewal of Junior Group cleared the height of 1.70 metres which was impregnable for even the horses of great worth\, winning the gold medal in Junior & Young Rider Puissance category which is the most significant event of the Delhi Horse Show. SUMMARY:Baisakhi Welfare Fete
DESCRIPTION:Baisakhi Welfare Fete was inaugurated by Headmaster Dr DC Sharma in the Headmaster’s Green on April 13\, 2023. A large number of Old Nabhaites and parents turned up on the occasion. Many games and eatables stalls were put up catering to varied tastes and likings. Boys and girls enjoyed Fishing the soft drink bottles\, Golf putting\, Scoring a goal (football)\, One stump to bowl at\, Hockey scoop\, Jabberwocky\, Frisbee\, Coin the bucket\, Hoopla (ring & carry)\, Car race/dice game\, Agility Ladder Twist\, Toppling the cans\, Basketball through a tyre\, Dart/shooting\, All is well\, Horse riding and Juke Box. A Fund-raising stall/ONA Stall was put up as well. Nimboo Pani Stall by Round Square was another attraction. Tambola added to the fun. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr Sharma conveyed his greetings to the parents on the occasion of Baisakhi. He expressed his gratitude to them for supporting every move of the school for the betterment of students.

It was an interactive session in which he encouraged students to seek clarification. He sensitised them on the misplaced craze for social media amongst youth. He appealed to them to be wary of it and lead a safe and hassle-free life. Instead\, one should be updating oneself on various developments happening at district\, state\, national or international level. DESCRIPTION:A group of 30 students along with 2 teacher escorts visited the House of Lalpur at Rupnagar to take part in the Rural Development and Adventure Program from March 5-6\, 2023. It was based on the experiential learning.\nOn March 5\, students attended a talk on agriculture and rural development delivered by Dr Sumer Singh. It was followed by their visit to the farm and orchards. In the afternoon\, the group did kayaking in the river Sutlej.\nOn March 6\, students went for trekking and reached the ridge of the Basali forests. In the afternoon\, they enjoyed motorboat ride in the river Sutlej.\nThe group came back to the school with an abundance of experiences.

DESCRIPTION:Junior School organised a cultural evening in the Pavate Hall on February 5\, 2023. It got off to a rocking start with Orchestra and Choir. A group of 52 students enthralled the audience with their superb performance. Anshveer Singh Sandhu sang ‘Dynamite’ (South Korean Boys Band BTS). The English Play “The Boy in the Picture” was the cynosure of all eyes. It depicted the life of a teenager having trouble in the school making friends and being bullied on top of it. Nobody understood him till a boy from a picture on the wall came to his rescue. Aradhya\, Tejasveer\, Erica\, Pratap\, Charvi\, Bhavishi\, Harsimrat\, Avijit\, Narayan\, Tejpal\, Rajpal and Vihaan essayed their respective roles immaculately. The Kashmiri folk dance created a soothing environment. Hetal\, Amrit\, Gourisha\, Jeetain\, Shama\, Japneet\, Charankamal\, Sonakashi\, Sheenamjot\, Ananya\, Harsheen and Saanvi exhibited excellent footwork. The Musical Play celebrated the individuality of every child. The Mime “Life of a Soldier” added to the list of electrifying performances. It depicted the life of an Indian soldier who does not think twice before making the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. Khushpreet\, Pushpinder\, Mackpartap\, Jai Singh\, Armaanpreet\, Balsher\, Daneesh\, Jatin\, Prabhmehar\, Wahid Partap\, Suhan\, Lavejaap and Jaiveer worked as a well-knit team. Finally\, Giddha and Bhangra brought the curtain down on one of the finest shows of all time. Speaking on the occasion\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma complimented the teachers who worked tirelessly for making the show a grand success. He thanked the parents to make it a point to visit the school to see their wards perform on the stage. Bursar Dr Ankur Samuel Birkett\, Head Junior Wing Ms Ruby Verma\, Dr Geetu Gupta and Dr Deepak Gupta were present.

SUMMARY:Class-XI bids farewell to ISC Batch-2023
DESCRIPTION:ISC Batch-2023 was formally given farewell on January 30\, 2023. A party was organised for the purpose at the Swimming Pool Lawns. The proceedings got underway at 5.30 pm with the arrival of Headmaster Dr DC Sharma. It was followed by mementos given to boys and girls by Dr Sharma\, Bursar Dr Ankur Samuel Birkett and Head Junior Wing Ms Ruby Verma. Head Boy Juvnish Sharma and Head Girl Naina Bath expressed their thoughts on their stay on the campus. There was a cake cutting ceremony as well. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr DC Sharma called upon the students of ISC Batch-2023 to lead a meaningful life and do the school proud with their noble deeds. Bhavyadeep Singh proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of Class-XI. The party ended with Dinner.

DESCRIPTION:Mr Gurpreet Singh Purewal\, CEO (B-530 ICSE 1984) visited PPS on January 25\, 2023. Addressing boys and girls\, he emphasised the need to converse in English and consistently hone the speaking skills to succeed in a highly competitive world. He spoke about his journey of creating five companies in Canada. Paying glowing tribute to his mother who accompanied him\, he appealed to the student community to hold their parents and teachers in the highest esteem. Proposing the vote of thanks\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma expressed the hope the students will realise the importance of nurturing values in life and work hard to realise their dreams. Dr Sharma presented Mr Purewal with a token of deeply felt love and gratitude.
