DESCRIPTION:PPS celebrates 64th Founders’ Day Punjab Guv presides over the function  \nThe Punjab Public School\, Nabha celebrated its 64th Founders’ Day on October 27\, 2024. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the chief guest Shri Gulab Chand Kataria\, Governor of Punjab & Administrator\, Union Territory\, Chandigarh and Chairman\, the School Board of Governors. He took the salute and inspected the Guard of Honour. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma conducted the assembly and presented the School Report. While presenting the Headmaster’s Report\, Dr Sharma profusely thanked the patrons of the school for rendering all possible help for the growth of the institution over the years. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Shri Ramesh Chander Bhalla\, Ex-Mathematics Teacher & Deputy Headmaster. The Award of Roll of Honour was conferred on Shri Rajeev Bakshi\, a distinguished corporate leader. The President’s Championship Trophy for Senior Cock House for the year 2023 was lifted by Sutlej House. On this occasion\, Junior School boys put up a grand aerobics display. The School Band put up an immaculate performance. PPS riders stole the show with their splendid performance. Speaking on the occasion\, Shri Kataria complimented the staff and students for putting up an excellent show. He said he was impressed with the quality work being done by the staff at PPS to shape life and character of students. Proposing the vote of thanks\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma expressed his gratitude to Shri Kataria for his words of encouragement. Shri Jai Singh Gill\, IAS (Retd)\, President\, Executive Committee\, the Board of Governors\, hon’ble Board Members and other prominent dignitaries were present on the occasion.

A Variety Entertainment Programme was organised in the evening. It comprised Orchestra\, PowerPoint Presentation on Activities in School\, Semi-classical Dance\, an English Play “The Proposal” by Anton Chekov\, Giddha and Bhangra. Solo Songs by Parikalpna Gupta and Aadhya Negi added charm to the colourful evening. Mr Rajeev Bakshi\, a distinguished corporate leader and an alumnus of the school presided over the function. The chief guest gave away prizes to students for academic and co-curricular activities. Twelve (12) teachers were given Headmaster’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Speaking on the occasion\, Mr Bakshi reminisced his days while in school and exhorted the student community to work hard to carve a niche for themselves in a highly competitive world. Proposing the vote of thanks\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma thanked Mr Bakshi for sparing some time from his busy schedule to make it to the function. He presented the chief guest with a token of deeply felt respect and gratitude. In the afternoon\, President\, Executive Committee\, Shri Jai Singh Gill and Mr Bakshi visited the various exhibitions put up by students.

DESCRIPTION:Future leaders under training at PPS through Life Skills by team PPS! \nThe open Story Telling Competition was held for Classes IV to VI. 41 story tellers enthusiastically participated in the competition.The young and vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales.Some provided food for thought\, some reinforced moral values while some were humorous. The stories were adjudged based on the students’ expression\, memory\, voice modulation and diction\, and presentation skills. These young storytellers moved everyone’s heart and were applauded profoundly.The Headmaster\,  Dr DC Sharma also guided students about this art of story telling.

Three students from each house participated in the quiz.Comprised of eight intuited and mind boggling rounds for each group like current affairs\, sports\, famous personalities\, identifying the book etc. All the rounds were keenly contested. It was heart-warming to see students exuberated confidence as they answered the questions posed to them.It was very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants. \nTheQuiz masters \,B-2665 Japveer Singh and R-2549 Amarpratap Singh Kaleka did a commendable job.The audience participated  actively in the competition. \nJr.Beas bagged the first position while Jumna and Ravi shared the second position and Sutlej stood forth.\nThe Headmaster\, Dr. DC Sharma congratulated the winning team and encouraged students to keep themselves updated.

DESCRIPTION:All India IPSC Hockey Girls (U-19) Championship concluded at The Punjab Public School on October 5\, 2024. Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\, a renowned former Indian hockey player and coach was the chief guest. Risika Raj from MGD\, Jaipur was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper. Muskan from MNSS\, Rai was declared the Best Defender. Teshmeen Kaur from PPS Nabha was adjudged the Most Promising Player of the tournament. Himanshi from MNSS\, Rai was declared the Best Player of the tournament. Bronze medal went to the team from PPS. The runners-up trophy and silver medal were bagged by Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School\, Jaipur. The winning trophy and gold medal went to MNSS\, Rai. \nHeadmaster Dr DC Sharma gave the chief guest a token of appreciation and gratitude. \nWhile addressing the gathering\, the chief guest said the players should do everything possible to take hockey to its earlier heights. He declared the championship closed. \nA total of five teams− Birla Balika Vidyapeeth\, Pilani\, Mayo College Girls’ School\, Ajmer\, Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School\, Jaipur\, MNSS\, Rai and The Punjab Public School\, Nabha took part in the tournament. \nMr Ranbir Singh Khatra\, former Inspector General of Police and an alumnus of the school was the chief guest for the Opening Ceremony on October 3\, 2024. \nMotivational talk by Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\nOn the sidelines of All India IPSC Hockey Girls (U-19) Championship\, Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\, a renowned former Indian hockey player gave a motivational talk in the Pavate Hall on October 5\, 2024. He said one should have a target as big as a mountain to scale new heights in one’s life. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma thanked Mr Negi for sparing some time to be with the students and gave him a token of appreciation and gratitude.

DESCRIPTION:CGS Art Competition 2024 \nThe CGS Annual Art Competition 2024\, hosted by Chittagong Grammer School in Bangladesh\, was held in the month of June with the theme “AI: Threats and Opportunities” as a part of Round Square activity. The competition attracted participants from forty-six schools worldwide and received 370 art entries. Rehmat Kaur \,Ameet Kaur\, Gurchet Singh\, Agrim Asija\,Deep Fateh Singh enlightened the audience with the Gita Saar in English \,Hindi and Punjabi.The awesome presentation of Japveer Singh\, Nimrat Kaur\, Japmanjot Singh\, Angad Singh Julka\, Chandan Kaur\, Arjun Dhuria\, Heavenjot Kaur and Mannat Kaur was applauded and appreciated by everyone. \nThe Headmaster\, Dr DC Sharma addressed the gathering and conveyed the message that this auspicious occasion is not just about revelry but also about imbibing valuable life lessons from the life of Lord Krishna.He also emphasized that PPS instills the qualities of knowledge-seeking\, responsibility\, resilience\, compassion\, self-confidence\, time management\, integrity\, and teamwork among students to make them responsible citizens of tomorrow. \nThe first Lady\, Dr. Anita Sharma was also present for the occasion.

SUMMARY:PPS celebrates 78th Independence Day
DESCRIPTION:The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School with great fervour and enthusiasm. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the chief guest Mr Jatinder Singh Aulakh\, IPS and currently the Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. Mr Aulakh\, an alumnus of PPS\, hoisted the tri-colour to the delight of everyone present and inspected the guard of honour. Chehac Kaur\, Mannat Tangri and Ishmeet Kaur expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English\, Hindi and Punjabi respectively. Two patriotic songs Vande matram and Jaag utha hai saara vatan saathiyon by the school choir lent a new feel to the atmosphere. Speaking on the occasion\, Mr Aulakh called upon the student community to nurture the values of discipline\, integrity and character. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma proposed the vote of thanks and gave the chief guest a token of deeply felt respect and gratitude.

DESCRIPTION:Padma Shri JK Kate Memorial All India Inter-School Knowledge Conclave\, being the intellectual hub provides enlarged dimensions of knowledge\, information and creativity to young minds across the country\, It is a rich tribute to Shri JK Kate\, recipient of Padma Shri and the Founder Headmaster of The Punjab Public School. \nThe Punjab Public School Nabha organised the 22nd JK Kate Memorial All India Inter-School Knowledge Conclave  for two days. A total number of 21 teams across the country participated in the Knowledge Conclave.  \nDay – 1 The formal inauguration of the Knowledge Conclave was held on 12th August 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Pavate Hall. The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Bhavin Shah CEO and Director of Education World and Parents World (India’s no. 1 Education and Parents magazine) by lighting the pious lamp. Literary figures\, young writers and authors attended the conclave. The Knowledge Conclave kicked off with the Inaugural Storytelling Competition. The participants gave a tough competition to each other. Their dramatic folktales kept the audience enthralled. Mr. Bhavin Shah in his speech motivated all the delegates.  \nHeadmaster Dr. D.C. Sharma presented a token of deeply felt love and gratitude to the chief guest. He proposed a vote of thanks and wished all the participating teams all the very best for the next two days. After a short break\, the Film Review Competition was moderated. Post lunch witnessed the creative writing and the prelims of the  English Debate.  The prelims of the English Debate comprised three rounds. \n\nRound – 1 Extempore\nRound – 2 Shipwreck\nRound – 3 Turncoat\n\nThe four teams that eventually towered above others to make it to the semi-finals were\, Singapore International School\, Mumbai\, Sunbeam School\, Lahartara\, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School\, Jodhpur and The Punjab Public School\, Nabha. The day concluded with the inaugural session of Book discussion as part of the review. The book lovers had a healthy ideas and shared their perspectives. Ms. Sakoon Singh\, a renowned author\, was the honourable Chief Guest for the evening. Dr. D.C. SUMMARY:NCC (Air Wing) cadets attend Annual Training Camp
DESCRIPTION:Twenty (20) cadets of NCC (Air Wing) from PPS took part in the 10-day Annual Training Camp organised at Chandigarh University\, Mohali by 3 Punjab Air Sqn NCC Patiala from July 2-11\, 2024. 600 cadets from various schools and colleges took part in it. The cadets were formally welcomed by Gp Capt Ajay Bhardwaj (Camp Commandant). He briefed them about the activities of the camp. Besides\, the lectures on cyber security\, protection from sexual offences\, army aviation\, firefighting\, aeromodelling\, donating organs\, blood donation and first aid were organised. The cadets were taken to Air Force Station\, Adampur as well where they saw MIG-29 taking off and landing. They were told about Air Traffic Control in detail. It was indeed a memorable experience for them.  \nA host of dignitaries including Prof (Dr) Manpreet Singh Manna\, Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University\, Mohali\, Dr GS Brar\, Registrar\, CU\, Major Dinesh and Dr Ashita Chadha motivated the cadets with their words of encouragement. Gp Cmdr Brig Rahul Gupta\, Gp Hq\, NCC Patiala inspected the camp. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma met the cadets from PPS during the camp and witnessed activities being undertaken there. Air Commodore Lamba\, Station Commander\, Air Force Station\, Chandigarh was present on the concluding day. He complimented the efforts of the cadets during the camp. NCC (Air Wing) Incharge\, Chief Officer Shahid Ahmed was with the cadets throughout the camp.

The school choir sang Tu Mera Pita Tu Hai Mera Mata and Jo Mange Thakur Apne Te. Bursar Dr Ankur Samuel Birkett\, ODHM Mrs Ravinder K aur and faculty members were present.
