The journey continued through the Science Block\, Cambridge Block\, Historical Section\, Library\, Art Room\, Sham Bagh\, and the state-of-the-art Multi-Facility Sports Complex\, sparking fond memories of their formative years. A sumptuous lunch at the iconic JK Kate Dining Hall further enriched the day’s camaraderie. \nIn a symbolic gesture of growth and continuity\, saplings were planted in the serene Headmaster’s Green\, marking their enduring connection to the institution. The moment was immortalized with a group photograph\, capturing the spirit of togetherness and celebration. \nThe afternoon’s special assembly proved to be a highlight of the day\, featuring R-0073 Avtar Singh Sidhu (ICSE 1999) as the keynote speaker. A distinguished alumnus\, Mr Sidhu recounted his inspiring journey from Nabha to Ontario\, Canada\, where he now serves as a Physician Assistant\, managing Rural Narcotic Emergency Clinics. His words resonated deeply\, embodying the transformative power of education and determination. \nThe festivities carried into the second day with a spirited cricket match on the Main Fields. The 1999 Batch showcased their enduring teamwork and competitive spirit\, triumphing over the present students by chasing a target of 75 runs in just 8 overs with 3 wickets down. Teachers from 8 public schools of the country took part in the prestigious event. The eminent educationist Dr Sumer Singh was the chief guest and keynote speaker for the Opening Ceremony. He delivered his talk on the topic “Making a Difference.” He said educators can make a difference by providing 360° exposure to learners covering every aspect of personality development. The student-teacher bonding goes a long way in inspiring learners to be changemakers\, he said. It is high time the legacy of old boarding schools be disbanded and schools made more transformational. Additionally\, it is vital for students to understand the nuanced difference between charity and service. While charity often addresses immediate needs\, service is rooted in sustainability and empowerment\, cultivating a mindset that seeks long-term solutions to societal challenges. Schools must prepare learners to face the complexities of a rapidly changing world\, equipping them with resilience\, adaptability\, and a proactive mindset. By embracing this holistic and forward-thinking approach\, educators can truly transform the educational experience\, enabling students not only to excel academically but also to thrive as empathetic\, confident\, and visionary individuals in the real world.The second keynote speaker of the day was Capt AJ Singh. He delivered his talk on the topic “Rules are for Fools.” He dwelt at length on issues faced by boarders. It is high time we shunned stereotypes\, pre-conceived notions and moribund traditions. The so-called “biases” have to be done away with to make a more cohesive and empathetic boarding schools community. The stigma around vital issues concerning teenagers has to be removed. Children need understanding and acceptance\, he said. Everything cannot be decided by outdated rules.The third keynote speaker of the day was Dr DC Sharma\, Headmaster\, The Punjab Public School\, Nabha. He gave his talk on the topic “Digital Pedagogy & Learning Outcome Based School Education (Part-I)”. As a groundwork\, he dwelt on Abraham Lincoln’s letter to his son’s teacher encapsulating parental expectations and a teacher’s role in the life of a child.The fourth keynote speaker of the day was Dr Varun Kapoor\, IPS\, currently Special Director General of Police\, Madhya Pradesh. He gave his talk on the topic “Challenges to Security in Cyberspace”. Sensitizing teachers on the topic\, he said the only way to prevent getting trapped is changing your mindset with regard to the online behaviour. He said children are highly vulnerable to cybercrime and teaching them preventive measures is the only way out. \nDay-2The day started with Dr DC Sharma\, Headmaster\, The Punjab Public School continuing where he left on Day-1. Elaborating on the topic “Digital Pedagogy & Learning Outcome Based School Education (Part-II)”\, he said digital pedagogy must be aligned with the provisions of NEP 2020 to make it more integrated whereby learners are taught subjects with bearing on many other aspects of knowledge.The 2-day In-Service Trainings (IPSC Teachers’ Training) concluded in the afternoon. The chief guest Dr Varun Kapoor\, Special Director General of Police\, Madhya Pradesh presided over the Closing Ceremony. DESCRIPTION:ROUND SQUARE FORUM 2024 South Asia and Gulf Region \nThe Round Square Forum for schools in the South Asia and Gulf Region took place from November 8-11\, 2024\, at Indian School Al Ghubra in Muscat\, Oman. Ms Sarita Rana\, the Round Square Coordinator at The Punjab Public School\, attended the event. The forum brought together 88 Heads and Round Square Coordinators from 48 schools across India\, Pakistan\, Dubai\, Jordan\, and Armenia. It provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with individuals from various countries and welcome new members into the Round Square community.\nThe forum began with a school tour\, followed by the Opening Ceremony on the evening of November 8\, 2024. The formal welcome address was delivered by Principal Papri Ghosh and Ms Rajbir Sandhu\, Schools’ Support Director for the South Asia and Gulf Region. \nOn Day 2\, Rachael Westgarth\, CEO of Round Square\, introduced new members to the forum\, followed by a presentation on Round Square’s current initiatives and future plans. The participants engaged in networking sessions\, sharing best practices among Heads and Coordinators from different schools. Table discussions focused on plans for the upcoming year\, including ideas for pre- and post-conference tours for RSIC 2025 and Round Square Day. The day concluded with the Closing Ceremony on the evening of November 9\, where the vote of thanks was delivered by John O’Connor\, Chairman of Round Square\, via Zoom. \nOn Day 3\, November 10\, 2024\, the group visited the historic city of Nizwa. Overall\, the forum was highly informative and greatly contributed to enhancing expertise for all delegates.

Mr Paramjit Singh Goraya\, IPS (Retd) presided over the closing ceremony.  \nIn Boys’ Section\, The Doon School\, Dehradun lifted the IPSC Athletics Trophy with Welham Boys’ School\, Dehradun being the runners-up. In Girls’ Section\, MNSS\, Rai lifted the IPSC Athletics Trophy with The Daly College\, Indore being the runners-up.\nThe award for the Best Athlete (Boys) was bagged by Udathveer Pasricha from The Doon School\, Dehradun. The award for the Best Athlete (Girls) was bagged by Pooja Bishnoi from RKKGPS\, Jodhpur. The March Past Trophy was lifted by Welham Boys’ School\, Dehradun.\nSpeaking on the occasion\, the chief guest Mr Paramjit Singh Goraya\, IPS (Retd) complimented the Headmaster\, staff and students of PPS for having undertaken the mammoth exercise in such a hassle-free manner. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma profusely thanked Mr Goraya for sparing some time to be with the athletes. He gave the chief guest a token of deeply felt love and gratitude. DESCRIPTION:NCC Annual Training Camp-93 \nAnnual Training Camp-93 for NCC Naval Wing cadets was held at NCC Academy\, Malout. 21 cadets along with ANO\, Davinder Kumar Dutt of the Naval wing from The Punjab Public School participated in the 10-day camp. This annual training camp was organized by the 3 Punjab Naval Wing Unit Bathinda from November 5-14\, 2024. About 280 cadets participated in this camp from various schools\, institutions\, and colleges. The camp was run under the flag of the Commanding Officer of Bathinda Unit. Cadets were provided intensive training in PT\, Drill\, Parade\, Firing\, and Ship Modelling. The classes organised as per NCC syllabus covered orientation\, communication\, seamanship\, boat work\, ship modeling\, personality development\, social and health awareness. Various games like Volleyball\, Kho-Kho\, and Tug-of-war were played between NCC cadets. Our school team won the first position in the Volleyball and Tug-of-war. A cultural show was also organized. PPS cadets performed Bhangra\, Mime\, Public Speaking and Poetical Recitation. Finally\, they returned back to the school with lots of training and leadership skills.

The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the chief guest Shri Gulab Chand Kataria\, Governor of Punjab & Administrator\, Union Territory\, Chandigarh and Chairman\, the School Board of Governors. He took the salute and inspected the Guard of Honour. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma conducted the assembly and presented the School Report. While presenting the Headmaster’s Report\, Dr Sharma profusely thanked the patrons of the school for rendering all possible help for the growth of the institution over the years. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Shri Ramesh Chander Bhalla\, Ex-Mathematics Teacher & Deputy Headmaster. The Award of Roll of Honour was conferred on Shri Rajeev Bakshi\, a distinguished corporate leader. The President’s Championship Trophy for Senior Cock House for the year 2023 was lifted by Sutlej House. On this occasion\, Junior School boys put up a grand aerobics display. The School Band put up an immaculate performance. PPS riders stole the show with their splendid performance. Speaking on the occasion\, Shri Kataria complimented the staff and students for putting up an excellent show. He said he was impressed with the quality work being done by the staff at PPS to shape life and character of students. Proposing the vote of thanks\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma expressed his gratitude to Shri Kataria for his words of encouragement. It comprised Orchestra\, PowerPoint Presentation on Activities in School\, Semi-classical Dance\, an English Play “The Proposal” by Anton Chekov\, Giddha and Bhangra. Solo Songs by Parikalpna Gupta and Aadhya Negi added charm to the colourful evening. Mr Rajeev Bakshi\, a distinguished corporate leader and an alumnus of the school presided over the function. The chief guest gave away prizes to students for academic and co-curricular activities. Twelve (12) teachers were given Headmaster’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Speaking on the occasion\, Mr Bakshi reminisced his days while in school and exhorted the student community to work hard to carve a niche for themselves in a highly competitive world. Proposing the vote of thanks\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma thanked Mr Bakshi for sparing some time from his busy schedule to make it to the function. DESCRIPTION:Future leaders under training at PPS through Life Skills by team PPS! \nThe open Story Telling Competition was held for Classes IV to VI. 41 story tellers enthusiastically participated in the competition.The young and vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales.Some provided food for thought\, some reinforced moral values while some were humorous. The stories were adjudged based on the students’ expression\, memory\, voice modulation and diction\, and presentation skills. These young storytellers moved everyone’s heart and were applauded profoundly.The Headmaster\,  Dr DC Sharma also guided students about this art of story telling.

DESCRIPTION:Inter-House GK Quiz for Jr .Houses was held this morning. Three students from each house participated in the quiz.Comprised of eight intuited and mind boggling rounds for each group like current affairs\, sports\, famous personalities\, identifying the book etc. All the rounds were keenly contested. It was heart-warming to see students exuberated confidence as they answered the questions posed to them.It was very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants. \nTheQuiz masters \,B-2665 Japveer Singh and R-2549 Amarpratap Singh Kaleka did a commendable job.The audience participated  actively in the competition. \nJr.Beas bagged the first position while Jumna and Ravi shared the second position and Sutlej stood forth.\nThe Headmaster\, Dr. DC Sharma congratulated the winning team and encouraged students to keep themselves updated.

DESCRIPTION:All India IPSC Hockey Girls (U-19) Championship concluded at The Punjab Public School on October 5\, 2024. Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\, a renowned former Indian hockey player and coach was the chief guest. Risika Raj from MGD\, Jaipur was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper. Muskan from MNSS\, Rai was declared the Best Defender. Teshmeen Kaur from PPS Nabha was adjudged the Most Promising Player of the tournament. Himanshi from MNSS\, Rai was declared the Best Player of the tournament. Bronze medal went to the team from PPS. The runners-up trophy and silver medal were bagged by Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School\, Jaipur. The winning trophy and gold medal went to MNSS\, Rai. \nHeadmaster Dr DC Sharma gave the chief guest a token of appreciation and gratitude. \nWhile addressing the gathering\, the chief guest said the players should do everything possible to take hockey to its earlier heights. He declared the championship closed. \nA total of five teams− Birla Balika Vidyapeeth\, Pilani\, Mayo College Girls’ School\, Ajmer\, Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School\, Jaipur\, MNSS\, Rai and The Punjab Public School\, Nabha took part in the tournament. \nMr Ranbir Singh Khatra\, former Inspector General of Police and an alumnus of the school was the chief guest for the Opening Ceremony on October 3\, 2024. \nMotivational talk by Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\nOn the sidelines of All India IPSC Hockey Girls (U-19) Championship\, Mr Mir Ranjan Negi\, a renowned former Indian hockey player gave a motivational talk in the Pavate Hall on October 5\, 2024. He said one should have a target as big as a mountain to scale new heights in one’s life. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma thanked Mr Negi for sparing some time to be with the students and gave him a token of appreciation and gratitude.

Speaking on the occasion\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma dwelt at length on the significance of the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. He gave the chief guest a token of respect and gratitude. The assembly concluded with the national anthem.

DESCRIPTION:CGS Art Competition 2024 \nThe CGS Annual Art Competition 2024\, hosted by Chittagong Grammer School in Bangladesh\, was held in the month of June with the theme “AI: Threats and Opportunities” as a part of Round Square activity. Nine students from classes VIII to XII comprising Parikalpna Gupta\, Anya Bath\, Sanjita Singla\, Shubham Singla\, Hasnat\, Rishita Pal\, Harshit Singla\, Bhavsehaj Singh and Rajanveer Singh submitted their artwork in the senior category for this prestigious event. The competition attracted participants from forty-six schools worldwide and received 370 art entries. Among the many impressive submissions\, J00547 Anya Bath stood out of her remarkable artistic skill\, earning the position of 2nd Runner-up.

Rehmat Kaur \,Ameet Kaur\, Gurchet Singh\, Agrim Asija\,Deep Fateh Singh enlightened the audience with the Gita Saar in English \,Hindi and Punjabi.The awesome presentation of Japveer Singh\, Nimrat Kaur\, Japmanjot Singh\, Angad Singh Julka\, Chandan Kaur\, Arjun Dhuria\, Heavenjot Kaur and Mannat Kaur was applauded and appreciated by everyone. \nThe Headmaster\, Dr DC Sharma addressed the gathering and conveyed the message that this auspicious occasion is not just about revelry but also about imbibing valuable life lessons from the life of Lord Krishna.He also emphasized that PPS instills the qualities of knowledge-seeking\, responsibility\, resilience\, compassion\, self-confidence\, time management\, integrity\, and teamwork among students to make them responsible citizens of tomorrow. \nThe first Lady\, Dr. Anita Sharma was also present for the occasion.

DESCRIPTION:The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School with great fervour and enthusiasm. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the chief guest Mr Jatinder Singh Aulakh\, IPS and currently the Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. Mr Aulakh\, an alumnus of PPS\, hoisted the tri-colour to the delight of everyone present and inspected the guard of honour. Chehac Kaur\, Mannat Tangri and Ishmeet Kaur expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English\, Hindi and Punjabi respectively. Two patriotic songs Vande matram and Jaag utha hai saara vatan saathiyon by the school choir lent a new feel to the atmosphere. Speaking on the occasion\, Mr Aulakh called upon the student community to nurture the values of discipline\, integrity and character. A total number of 21 teams across the country participated in the Knowledge Conclave.  \nDay – 1 The formal inauguration of the Knowledge Conclave was held on 12th August 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Pavate Hall. The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Bhavin Shah CEO and Director of Education World and Parents World (India’s no. 1 Education and Parents magazine) by lighting the pious lamp. Literary figures\, young writers and authors attended the conclave. The Knowledge Conclave kicked off with the Inaugural Storytelling Competition. The participants gave a tough competition to each other. Their dramatic folktales kept the audience enthralled. Mr. Bhavin Shah in his speech motivated all the delegates.  \nHeadmaster Dr. D.C. Sharma presented a token of deeply felt love and gratitude to the chief guest. He proposed a vote of thanks and wished all the participating teams all the very best for the next two days. After a short break\, the Film Review Competition was moderated. Post lunch witnessed the creative writing and the prelims of the  English Debate.  The prelims of the English Debate comprised three rounds. \n\nRound – 1 Extempore\nRound – 2 Shipwreck\nRound – 3 Turncoat\n\nThe four teams that eventually towered above others to make it to the semi-finals were\, Singapore International School\, Mumbai\, Sunbeam School\, Lahartara\, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School\, Jodhpur and The Punjab Public School\, Nabha. The day concluded with the inaugural session of Book discussion as part of the review. The book lovers had a healthy ideas and shared their perspectives. Ms. Sakoon Singh\, a renowned author\, was the honourable Chief Guest for the evening. Dr. D.C. In a special morning assembly convened for the purpose\, thirty (30) appointments were led into the Pavate Hall by the Headmaster Dr DC Sharma. The citations were read out highlighting their achievements in the school over the years. It was followed by the Headmaster administering the oath of office to the appointees. He gave them the badges as well. Harshil Rajrana and Gurleen Kaur Dhaliwal were appointed Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr Sharma dwelt at length on the role of a leader in setting standards.

SUMMARY:NCC (Air Wing) cadets attend Annual Training Camp
DESCRIPTION:Twenty (20) cadets of NCC (Air Wing) from PPS took part in the 10-day Annual Training Camp organised at Chandigarh University\, Mohali by 3 Punjab Air Sqn NCC Patiala from July 2-11\, 2024. 600 cadets from various schools and colleges took part in it. The cadets were formally welcomed by Gp Capt Ajay Bhardwaj (Camp Commandant). He briefed them about the activities of the camp. Besides\, the lectures on cyber security\, protection from sexual offences\, army aviation\, firefighting\, aeromodelling\, donating organs\, blood donation and first aid were organised. The cadets were taken to Air Force Station\, Adampur as well where they saw MIG-29 taking off and landing. They were told about Air Traffic Control in detail. It was indeed a memorable experience for them.  \nA host of dignitaries including Prof (Dr) Manpreet Singh Manna\, Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University\, Mohali\, Dr GS Brar\, Registrar\, CU\, Major Dinesh and Dr Ashita Chadha motivated the cadets with their words of encouragement. Gp Cmdr Brig Rahul Gupta\, Gp Hq\, NCC Patiala inspected the camp. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma met the cadets from PPS during the camp and witnessed activities being undertaken there. Air Commodore Lamba\, Station Commander\, Air Force Station\, Chandigarh was present on the concluding day. He complimented the efforts of the cadets during the camp. NCC (Air Wing) Incharge\, Chief Officer Shahid Ahmed was with the cadets throughout the camp.
