DESCRIPTION:The Oath-Taking Ceremony for the School Appointments for the Academic Session (2024-25) was organised in the Pavate Hall on August 3\, 2024. In a special morning assembly convened for the purpose\, thirty (30) appointments were led into the Pavate Hall by the Headmaster Dr DC Sharma. The citations were read out highlighting their achievements in the school over the years. It was followed by the Headmaster administering the oath of office to the appointees. He gave them the badges as well. Harshil Rajrana and Gurleen Kaur Dhaliwal were appointed Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr Sharma dwelt at length on the role of a leader in setting standards.

SUMMARY:NCC (Air Wing) cadets attend Annual Training Camp
DESCRIPTION:Twenty (20) cadets of NCC (Air Wing) from PPS took part in the 10-day Annual Training Camp organised at Chandigarh University\, Mohali by 3 Punjab Air Sqn NCC Patiala from July 2-11\, 2024. 600 cadets from various schools and colleges took part in it. The cadets were formally welcomed by Gp Capt Ajay Bhardwaj (Camp Commandant). He briefed them about the activities of the camp. Besides\, the lectures on cyber security\, protection from sexual offences\, army aviation\, firefighting\, aeromodelling\, donating organs\, blood donation and first aid were organised. The cadets were taken to Air Force Station\, Adampur as well where they saw MIG-29 taking off and landing. They were told about Air Traffic Control in detail. It was indeed a memorable experience for them.  \nA host of dignitaries including Prof (Dr) Manpreet Singh Manna\, Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University\, Mohali\, Dr GS Brar\, Registrar\, CU\, Major Dinesh and Dr Ashita Chadha motivated the cadets with their words of encouragement. Gp Cmdr Brig Rahul Gupta\, Gp Hq\, NCC Patiala inspected the camp. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma met the cadets from PPS during the camp and witnessed activities being undertaken there. Air Commodore Lamba\, Station Commander\, Air Force Station\, Chandigarh was present on the concluding day. He complimented the efforts of the cadets during the camp. NCC (Air Wing) Incharge\, Chief Officer Shahid Ahmed was with the cadets throughout the camp.

The cadets took out a rally on the campus. They took a solemn pledge to refrain from the use of intoxicants. Driven by her passion for teaching and fostering an excellent work culture\, she transitioned to Senior School in July 2010\, assuming the role of a Computer teacher.\nThroughout her tenure\, Mrs Singh exhibited remarkable dedication\, undertaking various duties and responsibilities beyond teaching. She served as the Housemistress of Senior Sutlej House for boys\, pioneered as the first lady coordinator for Senior Boarding Houses (Boys)\, represented the school as the Round Square Representative\, and held the position of Deputy Dean of Academics recently.\nHer exceptional teaching and commitment to social work garnered numerous accolades and awards during her time at PPS. Notably\, Mrs Singh achieved the distinction of being the first teacher at PPS to achieve the perfect score of 100 in her subject in the Board Examinations of the 2011-2012 session. Additionally\, she organized several Round Square Conferences and Social Service Projects\, enriching the school community.\nSpeaking on the occasion\, Headmaster Dr DC Sharma lauded Mrs Singh as an invaluable asset to the institution\, highlighting her unwavering dedication and commitment.

DESCRIPTION:The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School with great enthusiasm. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of Headmaster Dr DC Sharma at the Headmaster’s Green at 9.00 am. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. He unfurled the national tri-colour and inspected the guard of honour. Gurleen Kaur\, Mannat Tangri and Gurmanpreet Kaur expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English\, Hindi and Punjabi respectively. The school choir sang two patriotic songs–Vande matram and Janani ki jai jai gayenge\, Bharat ka dhwaj laharaenge. Tejasveer Badyal conducted the event. Speaking on the occasion\, Dr Sharma emphasised the importance of abiding by the Constitution to be ideal citizens.

In the second session\, Mr Davinder Kumar Attri\, DSP\, Sub-division\, Nabha was the chief guest.\nJapkirat Singh Brar\, Ekamjeet Singh and Armanpreet Singh were adjudged the Best Athletes from Section-A\, B and C (Boys) respectively. Arvinder Kaur and Pravleen Kaur were adjudged the Best Athletes from Section-A (Girls) and Rehmat Kaur and Aashita Singh Thakur were declared the Best Athletes from Section-B (Girls).\nInter-House Athletics Trophies for Junior and Senior Girls went to Jumna and Sutlej House respectively. Inter-House Athletics Trophy for Junior Houses went to Beas House. Inter-House Athletics Trophies for Middle and Seniors Houses went to Beas House. It is pertinent to mention here Beas House has lifted this trophy for the sixth year consecutively. The Overall Athletics Championship Trophy for Boys was lifted by Beas House. The March Past trophy was lifted by Girls Squad.\nHeadmaster Dr DC Sharma expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their benign presence.

Eight (8) teachers were given Headmaster’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The event became special with the presence of the Golden Jubilee Batch of 1973. They were felicitated by the chief guest Lt Gen Vinay Sharma. Shri Jai Singh Gill\,  IAS  (Retd)\, President\, Executive Committee and other dignitaries were also present. Speaking on the occasion\, Lt Gen Vinay Sharma complimented the staff and students for putting up an excellent show. He appealed to the students to work hard for a glorious future.
