The Junior School Choir lent a devotional note to the occasion with melodious bhajans, filling the hall with an atmosphere of piety, surrender and joy. Speeches in English, Hindi and Punjabi highlighted the significance of Janamashtami and shed light on the timeless message of Lord Krishna. A group of students further enriched the programme by presenting the Gita Saar in English, Hindi and Punjabi, reminding everyone of Krishna’s eternal counsel on duty, righteousness and faith.
A major highlight of the celebration was the display of Jhankis (dioramas), artistically portraying enchanting episodes from Krishna’s life. From the playful stealing of butter to the lifting of Govardhan Hill, each scene was crafted with devotion and detail. The sight of Krishna and Radha gracefully seated on a beautifully adorned swing added to the charm, symbolising divine love and eternal bliss.
The Headmaster, Dr DC Sharma, addressed the gathering with words of inspiration. He urged the students to imbibe the values exemplified by Lord Krishna−to remain steadfast in principles, uphold truth, and believe in the ultimate triumph of good over evil. He also reminded everyone to keep their hearts open to the unexpected blessings of the Divine, which often come disguised as life’s trials and lessons.
The celebration concluded on a note of joy, reflection and spiritual upliftment, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of faith and devotion.
